1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device to remember information — such as your preferences, whether you're logged in, or how you found the site. Some are essential to make a site function; others are used for analytics or advertising. We're only interested in the first kind, and only where genuinely necessary.
2. What saplingit.uk actually uses
saplingit.uk is a straightforward informational website: you can read about our services, learn about the company, and get in touch. It doesn't have user accounts, a shopping basket, or any other feature that would normally require cookies — so, at the time of writing, this site does not set any cookies of its own.
If that ever changes — for example, if we add a feature that genuinely needs a strictly-necessary cookie, such as a client login area — we'll update this page first, explain exactly what the cookie does, and (where the law requires it) ask for your consent before setting anything that isn't essential.
3. External resources we load
To make the site look and read well, a small number of pages load resources directly from third-party providers' own servers. These aren't cookies set by us, but in the interests of full transparency, here's what they are and why we use them:
| Provider | What we load from them | Why |
| Google Fonts | The "Inter" typeface, loaded from fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com | So the site's text renders consistently across devices |
| jsDelivr (Bootstrap Icons) | The icon font used throughout the site, loaded from cdn.jsdelivr.net | So icons display without us having to host the icon library ourselves |
Loading any external resource means your browser makes a direct request to that provider's servers, which will typically see standard technical information such as your IP address — in the same way any web request does. These providers operate under their own privacy and cookie practices, which we don't control; you can review Google's cookie information if you'd like to understand theirs in more depth.
4. The PriceTracker UK app
PriceTracker UK is a native Android app, not a website — so cookies, in the literal sense, simply don't apply to it. The app does store a small amount of information directly on your device (such as your session token, so you don't have to log in every time), and a push-notification token issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging so it can deliver alerts to you. Neither of these is a cookie, and neither is used for advertising or tracking.
For the full picture of what the app stores and why, see section 3 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Because saplingit.uk doesn't set its own cookies, there's nothing here for you to manage. That said, your browser gives you full control over cookies from any site you visit — you can view, block or delete them at any time through your browser's settings (usually found under "Privacy" or "Site settings"). Doing so won't affect your ability to use saplingit.uk, since the site doesn't depend on cookies to function.
6. Changes to this policy
If the way this site uses cookies or external resources ever changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above — and, where the change is significant, we'll make that clear rather than letting it pass quietly.
